Thank you to all of the students who had perfect attendance during ADM week! Your support is greatly appreciated :) ! The students really enjoyed the various activities, and different things to wear during the week.
Last week, the students learned counting on strategies, and practiced with flashcards. They continued to explore word problems with addition and subtraction. We used clues in the word problems to help us determine if we were to add or subtract.
In ELA, we are doing close reads. This allows us to determine how much of a story the students are comprehending.
We are preparing for our next UOI (Unit of Inquiry), How We Organize Ourselves. During this unit, the students will explore communities and weather, and how the weather impacts different communities.
Please be reminded that Mrs. Fairman's and Mrs. Wightman's classes are visiting the zoo this week. Please return your child's permission slip by Wednesday.
In closing, we would like to share a joke told to us by a first grade student in Mrs. Wightman's class.
Why don't bees bother you when you are outside?
Because they are minding their own bees-ness!
